CSR Networking Dinner
Rrjeti CSR Kosova organized a CSR Networking Dinner with the aim of promoting the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility and strengthening cooperation among different sectors. The event brought together executives of leading local and international companies operating in Kosovo, government representatives, international organizations, and civil society representatives.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Mr. Ramush Haradinaj, addressed the participants on behalf of the Government, emphasizing the importance of advancing corporate responsibility in relation to society. He underlined that beyond capital creation and profit generation, companies are increasingly demonstrating a sense of responsibility toward society through respect for workers’ rights, environmental protection, and combating negative practices, thereby contributing to raising awareness about responsible business conduct.
CSR encompasses all responsible business practices and actions within companies’ core functions. Promoting the concept and implementing concrete actions requires coordination and cooperation among the private sector, institutions, and civil society, as well as the application of international best practices.
Ms. Maria Alexiou, Chair of the Board of CSR Hellas, shared experiences from European companies in the field of CSR and highlighted the importance of local culture in shaping corporate behavior toward society. She referred to the concept of “Besa” as a positive element in local tradition that can guide responsible business practices.
The Chair of Rrjeti CSR Kosova, Mr. Visar Kelmendi, summarized the activities undertaken by the Network and emphasized the importance of respecting labor law, combating corruption, and protecting the environment. He invited non-member companies to join Rrjeti CSR Kosova, stressing that continuous awareness-raising on the importance of CSR is essential for the country’s sustainable development.
